Soggy Sydney

OK so here I am in Sydney for a week, visiting my daughter Seona and her partner Phil in the apartment they moved into a few months ago. It’s really spacious and has more room than they know what to do with (not true, you can always find a use for extra room) and is located in a great spot, surrounded by cafes, boutiques, cake shops…all the necessities of life.

However Sydney, as always, has turned on the rain for my visit. Being a good Australian I can’t really complain about the rain (well, only in a whisper anyway), but I would really appreciate it if this city would cut me some slack just once. However, not being one to let the weather get in the way of a good time, we’ve been braving the elements and getting out and about to Artisans Exhibitions in the Royal Botanical Gardens and shopping in the QVB (gotta love that place) and such like.

Today Seona and I are having a pyjama morning at home, as she’s catching up with some work and I’m catching up with some blogging. I’ll have to go and get myself showered and dressed very shortly so we can wander out and find a café for lunch. Ahh, it’s a tough life, but somebody has to live it.

STOP PRESS. STOP PRESS: The last couple of days have been bright and sunny so the Sydney Weather Faery must have been reading this post and taken pity on me. Thanks for a good time Sydney.

What a great apartment. Looks like it might be bigger than my house. After reading this made me miss the weekly lunches my daughter and I use to do. Seems we can never find time now. Maybe after the holidays.

Well it is large Tink. It’s got two bedrooms a huge study with a sunroom they use for drying clothes and a storage cupboard that’s like something out of Narnia. And you can see how much room in the living space. They really lucked out when they found this. It’s a converted shop premises so I think that’s why the rent is pretty reasonable. Needless to say, they love it.

I would love to have my two huge chiffarobes back. I love them but the ex sold them. (one of the reasons he is now an ex)

Sounds like fun! I’d love to see Australia (even in the rain).

Well, the first couple of days may have rained, but at least you escaped back down to Melbourne before we climbed back into the 30s! It’s been a horribly sticky weekend.

It was great having you here though, rain or shine.
