Digital Scrapbooking Blog Carnival for August

The August Digital Scrapbooking Blog Carnival is up and running at Pie in the Sky.

Did any Scraps of Mind readers submit their articles to it? If you don’t know what a Blog Carnival is then check out my article last month. I have three articles of mine in it and theres a host of other great digital scrapbooking information and tips in this month’s round up. So I highly recommend you get yourselves over there and check it out.

It’s a great opportunity to see some terrific information that you may not have come across before and perhaps discover some new sites that you want to add to your regular readers list.

By the way, how do you guys manage to keep up to date with your favourite blogs? I now have a huge list of blogs I like to visit and trying to keep up with them was a nightmare until someone put me on to Bloglines. It’s one of the many free feed aggregators out there (see my article Keep up to date with your favourite Blogs using RSS for an explanation of what it is and why it’s so great) and it’s made my life soooo much easier. So I’d be interested (and I reckon so would other people) in what you all use to keep track of the activity on your favourite blogs.

And don’t forget to check out the Carnival. It’s amazing what you can pick up in the stuff available there.

And in news just to hand: I’ll be hosting a Blog Carnival round on Scraps of Mind in September.

  2. Hi, just letting you know that your “ploppy thing” that talks about products you love to promote is sitting half over your front page making it very hard to read your articles. i wouldn’t mind except i love reading your stuff ‘cos it’s so interesting and funny, you write so well.

  3. Hi Karen, I figured out how to use Bloglines (thanks to your post) Yeah! But could you give me any tips on how to get the button in the sidebar like you have on my blog?

  4. Glad we’ve managed to fix the ‘ploppy thing’ Elaine. Put it down to a failed experiment with changing the width of my sidebar.

I’ll sent you the code and instructions for the orange button Toni.
If anyone else wants it just let me know.

  5. Thank you for teaching others about the blog carnival. It is so hard to do it by oneself

I love my Bloglines! I have tried Google Reader which seems more popular, but I just cannot get the hang of it.

Did you know you can put your subscriptions in the sidebar with Bloglines?

I have mine there; someo of them are marked private and not there.
I just do not have time to keep up with them even in Bloglines
and have been trying to delete some of my subscriptions.

  6. Great idea Hummie. Although with 268 subscriptions (at the last count) I don’t think I should to that in my sidebar.
