I know what you mean June. I still prefer to make my layouts with PSE because of the flexibility it gives me. But if i need to do some speedy layouts or create an album in an hour then it's hard to beat Scrapbook Max.

Thanks for pointing me at this article Karen. I have had a play with Scrapbook Max today and I agree that for speed in producing albums and layouts its fast!! It is really flexible in the fact you can also import items from freebie kits etc. I think as a CS2 user I will always be addicted to what I know and love but for producing albums of stock piled photographs of an events that I want to put into albums quickly and easily it is ideal. Also for the new scrapper it must be heaven!! Clear instructions, user friendly and layouts achieved quickly...it has to be ideal for them, with the potential to expand with their growing knowledge by letting them import items they have aquired. Gets my vote as a very useful little bit of kit!

OK Cindy. This is it. Once you get started you'll love it.
One of the great things about digital scrapbooking is that I find it's much quicker than traditional scrapbooking. There's the obvious thing about the no mess to clear up, but actually creating layouts is a lot quicker as you can play around with different elements, resize them, re color them or discard them to quickly.
I've found myself with reduced time for scrapbooking in recent months as i put so much of my time into Scraps of Mind (not to mention the rest of 'life'), and I've found myself doing less and less traditional scrapbooking and more digital scrapbooking because of it.

Every time I visit your blog, I'm about ready to start down the road of digital scrapbooking. Soon, very soon! Just have to get through remodeling, Christmas, New Years, 2006 traditional scrapbook (only 1/2 through) and....well, you get the picture. Thanks for all the great information.

I'm sure it would Sol. But I'm not sure what kind of collages you have in mind. It might be a bit of overkill.

Hi Karen,

I had never heard about digital scrapbooking before meeting you. Might this technology be used for making collages of Math-related "things" for my Math blog or for my personal edification?

I agree with you about the limitations Olga, as a reasonably experienced PSE user I would find them frustrating. But I must admit, for someone who isn't interested in going through the learning curve of PSE, PS or PSP I think Scrapbook Max is hard to beat.

To be honest with you when I was starting digital scrappping I downloaded the trial software, and I found the program is actually quite good and easy to use for anyone starting digital scrapping. :D It's a bit limited once you learn and stop being a beginner, but for anyone starting digital scrapping and only interesting in making layouts everynow and then, it's a very good program. :)

The colour theory article below is very good with the links. It's a fantastic series of articles the ones you are dedicating to colour and very useful for any scrapper. :D

Thanks so much for sharing this with us and best wishes. :O)
