I must admit to feeling a level of inadequacy all those years that I felt I wasnt a creative person. School Art class was never structured to open my eyes to my creativity. I used to do cross stitch too.Although when i did it i followed the patterns to the letter and didn't really put anything of myself in the finished product -- except maybe the drops of blood from my pricked fingers. It really was different and special. Like you, I never believed I was very creative, until I got into (no, not scrapbooking) but cross stitch. I would buy a pattern and alter it. For more than 20 years I had been doing faces and hands over 1 in linen while the rest were over 2, then about 10 years ago, I noticed they have started putting directions for the faces and hands over 1 in the patterns. It really boosted my ego (though I know more people must of done it to, LOL). When someone feels they are not creative, all it takes is for someone to help them find that creativity.
