Texture Tuesday with Wildheart

Wildheart of Wildheart’s Works brings you Texture Tuesday. Wildheart is a Paintshop Pro expert, but I know you’ll enjoy the tips and tricks even if you’re not a PaintShop Pro user. And you’ll find plenty of ideas to help you work with textures in your own program.

This week I am back in full form with two great textures to show off complete with details as to how I did them.

This first one is similar to a design I have on Flickr

To get the effect below I chose a color with the color values of Red, 255, Green 221, and Blue 204.

Then I went to add noise>uniform>noise> 28%>monochrome checked.

After this I chose a mask named sq3>fit to canvas>source luminance>show all mask.

The last step is to merge all layers>flatten.

What you end up with is a simple set of torn edged squares with some texture added to them.

This next one kind of looks like a colored chalk with streaks.

Simply select a color with the hex value of #a84c0e, then add noise>random>noise 12%>monochrome checked.

Go to Adjust>blur>motion>angel 133>strength 100%.

I then went into Effects, filters>VM Extravaganza>edge burner>x offset 25>y offset 164>threshold 22>Red 229>green 164>blue 104.

For the last step go to seamless tiling>edge>vertical>width 100%>transition 39.

You can get the VM Extravaganza filter set by going to VanderLee.com and if that doesn’t work just Google it by typing in VanderLee filters or plug ins and it should be about the top of the page.
