Texture Tuesday

How to Give Texture to an Image

This week’s tutorial is going to be so easy it will blow your socks off.

I have been trying to figure out how to blend a texture and an image for quite some time now and I think I finally have nailed it.

I started out by creating my own texture.

I call it blue stone. Then I found an image of a frog, ’cause frogs like cool stones to perch on whilst sitting in the cool pond.

Next I took my blue stone texture and copied it to the frog image as a new layer and adjusted the opacity to 50%. I went into adjust>sharpness>sharpen more, to start bringing out the texture details and some of the frog details.

I then went Effects>Edge Effects> Enhance More.

And last but not least I went back to Adjust>One Step Photo Fix and it really brought out the details of the stone and the frog.

This is what the end result looks like.

The frog now looks drawn and painted into the stone.
