Wildheart of Wildheart’s Works returns from her short break to bring you this week’s Texture Tuesday. Wildheart is a Paintshop Pro expert, but I know you’ll enjoy the tips and tricks even if you’re not a PaintShop Pro user. And you’ll find plenty of ideas to help you work with textures in your own program.
While in Chicago for my mini vacation I took some time to take a look at textures in the real world.
This weeks texture tutorial is inspired by the pattern and texture of the cement curb at the hotel I was staying at.
Click on picture to view larger image.
To get the effect above effect I opened up a gray gradient, linear, invert unchecked, Angle 0, Repeats 0.
I then went into Effects>Art Media Effects>Brush Strokes with the following settings:
Softness 51
——- ——–
Bristles 253 Length 3
Width 20 Density 64
Opacity75
Lighting
———
Angle 70
Color R 213, G 83, B 53
I went back into effects and then went to texture>grain long deep with the following settings
9. Color # c0c0c0
Go into Image>Free Rotate with an angle of 270.
Lastly click on your deform tool and click on mesh warp. Then you can just play around until you find a curve you like.
This idea sat in my head for a whole week so I knew it was what I needed to do for my first installment back here on Scraps of Mind.
