Well November 3rd 2008 is a very special day in history.

It’s the eve of the US Election 2008. When US citizens will cast their votes to elect who will run the world for the next four years.

It’s the eve of Australia’s most important horse race: The Melbourne Cup. The horse race that rates it’s own public holiday.

but most of all…it’s Digital Scrapbooking Day!!!

I have to confess, this one had almost slipped my notice. Which, considering that a large part of my life is spent teaching people how to digital scrapbook, is rather amazing. But a comment from blog buddy June of Scrappin’ by Design, and a visit to Charmain’s blog Tales of Terror from the Black Lagoon put me back on track.

Digital Scrap Booking Day was born last November, the brain-child of Digital Scrapbooking Magazine, and you can read all about it at the dedicated DSD website.

There are challenges, crops and chats abounding all over the Internet, courtesy of a multitude of Digital Scrapbooking sites so why not get amongst it?

And if you’re not a digital scrapbooker yet but are interested in taking that next step, then click over to Step by Step Digital Scrapbook and get all the info you need to get you started. Incidentally, the scrapbook layouts featured in the round layout above are all from the Step by Step Digital Scrapbook Mentoring Program.

But be warned…digital scrapbooking can be addictive and should not be undertaken without medical supervision.

“I have been digital scrapbooking for over three years now. I am sure I can give it up any time I want. It’s not like I’m addicted or anything.” Karen Bellamy, chronic digital scrapbooker and self-delusionist.

So don’t say you haven’t been warned!

  2. Hi Karen,

I haven’t attempted digital scrapbooking yet, can you believe it?
Tell me, who do you want to become our next president? I’m interested to find out what people outside of the US think…

  4. I try not to get political on Scraps of Mind Leslie. Because I believe everyone has a valid point of view even if it’s not the same as mine.
I suspect that from the rest of the world it is more a case of being anti-Bush than being particularly pro-Obama. My own political leanings don’t draw me to the Republican side of the fence.

Nice one Antoinette. I guess that says it all.

Make sure you follow the link in Antoinette’s comment Leslie for the resounding answer to your question.

  7. Thanks Deb. Laura wrote to me to tell me that too. I don’t know how i managed to mess up the days. I wasn’t following it at all and them I got an email to say it was on so I thought I’d better do a post. But I totally muffed it. Sorry if there was any confusion.

  8. Photoshop, Photoshop Elements (my choice) and Paint Shop Pro seem to be the most popular graphics editing programs Richard. But there are others in use too.
