Rivendell Studios – fantasy in craft
And I love the many forms it can take.
I have talked to you previously about my friend Doreen and her incredible talent and I’ve shown you some examples of it.
Well now she’s set up her own fantastic web site called Rivendell Studios to showcase all the amazing things she makes.
And if you have even a passing interest in amazing craft works and gorgeous fantasy models you just have to pop over and have a browse.
Doreen is so talented it just makes me gnash my teeth. It’s a shame that she’s also a delightful person so I can’t even have the satisfaction of disliking her. It seems that anything she turns her hand to she’s brilliant at (and where’s the justice in that, I ask you?).
Her son has created this web site as a birthday present for her and it’s just a joy to step through that door and wander through, drooling over the amazing things she has created. I’ve seen many of them in real life and they are even better than in the excellent photographs.
Her fantasy dolls and models are simply to die for. And her quilts draped all over her house are just gorgeous too. She decided to give modelling in clay a go and, you guessed it, she was great at that too.
Doreen and her husband host the Annual Festival of the Sun, a long running party which has taken place every year for the last 31 years at their house in the beautiful Dandenong Hills on the outskirts of Melbourne (Australia). So Doreen has popped up on Scraps of Mind from time to time over the last few years.
But I truly recommend that you click on over and check out her site at Rivendell Studios. You don’t need to register or anything. Just “speak friend, and enter”, or in this case click and enter. Make sure you get a cup of coffee first so you can settle down and really enjoy yourself.
Phew! it’s just occurred to me: thank Heavens she hasn’t thought to take up scrapbooking. Then I’d really start feeling threatened.

Stumble it!
