Following my own advice

A few weeks ago I wrote an article on losing your mojo. And it got me thinking about my own situation.

Writing Scraps of Mind takes a lot of time and energy to come up with fresh articles on a regular basis. But that’s OK because I’ve always loved doing it and I’ve loved being in touch with so many readers, as well as the wonderful comments and messages I have received over the years.

But after three and a half years it has become more difficult to think up new things. It’s started to become like work!

And that’s not what I want from Scraps of Mind.

So I’ve decided to take a break from regular posting and see how I go about taking my own advice and getting my own mojo back.

I expect that I will still post something new here from time to time and probably still offer the odd freebie as well.

So please pop back every so often to check out the site and wish me luck in getting my head back together.

Don’t forget, the Articles Page is a great place to find all sorts of scrapbooking and blogging tips treasures so why not go and have a rummage whilst you’re here. With over 600 posts and articles  in the archives to choose from you’re sure to find something useful.

Good luck with the mojo! I have to admit that it is sometimes difficult to come up with new things all the time…but you have done it brilliantly.
Look forward to browsing and seeing if you find the elusive mojo!!

I so understand this Karen, it’s amazing you kept going for that long!
Good luck getting your mojo back.
But it’s not only the tips and new things I came here for, so I hope you will keep posting personal stuff :)

Yes, I have the same problem too. Usually, after a while of starting a blog, I’ll begin to get bored writing about the same topic over and over. So, whenever I see people with the same blog, talking about the same topic for years, I can only admire their consistency in maintaining their site and post count.

Good luck Karen! I too had the same problem. I went on ‘hiatus’ and now I’m back and feeling so much better. Finally getting into creating again. Hope to see you back soon!

Thank you everyone. My head’s in a funny place right now but I’m starting to get a bit of creativity flowing. Not sure yet how long it will be before I feel like blogging.

take a break sometimes if you feel like you don’t have the drive to write. :-)

Been following your blog for quite some time. As writers, we just need to take a break sometimes for inspirations to suddenly “pop up”. Keep up!

i enjoy writing, i am always punctual for my company blogs, but i have few interests, where i start a blog, work on it for few days, then i lose interest completely.. so i am relieved that it happens to most of you guys

As a witer, I dont really believe in writer’s block. I don’t believe that your mind literally becomes blocked from ideas, or constructing sentences, I think it just gets tired. When you’re writing all the time, your mind needs to take a break. That’s why I always seem to come up with great ideas when I’m just relaxing, they seem to come naturally.

Hi Karen
I hope the break offers you a rest and peace of mind and the chance to regroup. I keep loosing your blog link! so annoying, everything I change my blog I have to go and hunt for my links again, added it to my sidebar again now!

Thanks Bonnie. I’ll still be doing a few posts but not as regularly as before.
