My Story

Hello. My name is Karen (aka karooch), I live in Australia and I’m a Scrappin’ Tragic! I love reading about, writing about and actually doing Scrapbooking, both traditional and digital. My aim is to make Scraps of Mind a great resource for Scrappers everywhere; providing

  • Scrapbooking Tips and Techniques,
  • Scrapbook related articles,
  • Product and Website Reviews, and
  • Links to great Freebies and other useful Scrapbooking places,
  • in an easy to read magazine style format.

As well as helping those who blog to develop and improve their blogs without needing to delve into the heavy duty techie stuff. I like to think that Scraps of Mind is

karen-2.jpg

A feast of Scrapbooking information and tutorials for both the Digital Scrapbooker and the Traditional Paper Scrapbooker. Seasoned with Antiques & Collectibles, Music inspired, and Blog Presentation articles to add some extra spice. All served up with a light hearted and fun style.

I am constantly interested in improving this site so any feedback or suggestions from readers is warmly welcomed and encouraged. If you are a new reader you might like to check out my Articles Page which lists all the key articles on this site for easy reference.

And if you really want to know all the ‘down and dirty’ about Karooch then check out My ScrapBlogging Journey.

If you’ve never tried digital scrapbooking you might be interested in my latest project. I’ve put together a site called Step by Step Digital Scrapbook that’s designed specifically to help beginners get started in digital scrapbooking.

If you’ve never tried digital scrapbooking you really don’t know what you’re missing. So why not click over and check it out. But be warned…digital scrapbooking is seriously addictive.

Hi Karen
I just found your blog again, which (I hope you don’t mind) I have just used on the back of our current festival flier as you had such nice things to say about our festival and it makes us realise that perhaps all our work is not entirely in vain. We will put a link on our website :)

Hi Karen,

I like your first sentence about yourself! It applies to me too. :-) I had all these creative ideas swirling around in my head and somehow needed to get a grip. Glad to learn I’m not the only one!

Thanks for visiting my Blog! I saw a couple of things on yours that I’d like to copy if you don’t mind, i.e., Search at the very top.

Have a great weekend!

Love your blog, Karen! It is refreshing!

Tania June 16, 2007 at 7:14 pm

Hi Karen. Love the new look blog! Great work.
I wish I had a nice opening message like yours…. My head is full and I’ve got to empty some of it. So appropriate. Kind regards, Tania.

Karen,
I am SO excited that I found your blog!! It just kind of happened. I am always looking for good digital tutorials because I have collected digital Scrapbook supplies for about 4 years, have PSE 4.0, a wide format printer, and (embarrassing) I STILL only occasionally hybrid scrap. But I think maybe I might get somewhere after reading your tutorials. I don’t know how many you have, but your layers one REALLY made sense to me. THANKS!!!
I don’t know how often you read your comments, but email me when you get this. I used to work for a record company, and you seem to be into the music scene. I think we have a lot in common!
Looking forward to hearing from you,
Laura

Hi Karen,

I’ve been trying to make contact with you. I added you as a friend on Digg, and always Digg your submissions. I was hoping you would add me as a friend, so I could send you a message. I’m interested to know what this scrapping (digital) is all about, and wondered if you could give me some info. It sounds interesting, but where does one start? It would be great to hear from you about this subject. Thanks… Adrian67 (From Digg.com)

Antoinette September 20, 2010 at 7:15 am

Love love love the new look Karen! Great and easy navigation as well!

karooch September 20, 2010 at 8:31 am

Thanks Antoinette. I’m pretty buzzed about it myself. And whilst I love basking in the glory of your praise, honesty compels me to give the credit to Seona. She designed the new look and cleaned up the navigation.

Joe Cheray September 20, 2010 at 8:39 am

Terri from Kansas June 13, 2011 at 10:59 pm

I love the tutorials. Karen has helped me a lot with learning downloading.
The only problem I have is that my Photoshop must be a newer version and some of the basic things are in a different place. No problem though I just took back over my husband’s older desktop. Ha!

Joe Cheray June 14, 2011 at 9:37 am

Hey Terri I am from Kansas too what part of the state are you from???
