Hi Everyone, and welcome to this week’s Scraps of Mind Weekly Word Art Newsletter.
It’s been a hot hot week over here in Australia. And in Melbourne we’re hanging out for a cool change. Fortunately Melbourne weather usually provides one after a week or two of hot weather and then the cycle of heat begins again. But that cool respite is a blessing from Heaven.
Even with the cooler on, it’s been sticky work sitting in front of the computer, but it’s all worthwhile as I’ve got your three Word Art pieces ready. So without further ado, here’s the first.

Stuff from Scraps of Mind
Did you check out the Digital Scrapbooking Blog Carnival hosted on Scraps of Mind this week?
Blog Carnivals are a great way for people who blog to showcase their best material to a new and wider audience and also for readers to have an opportunity to see articles on their topic of interest that might otherwise not come their way. Everybody wins.
Even those who are traditional scrappers will probably find some useful and interesting stuff there. So if you missed it, I suggest you click over and check out some of the great links that are available there. And maybe you might like to nominate one of your own posts for the next Carnival, or perhaps someone else’s that you think is worth sharing.
And on a completely different topic, where’s your favourite place to scrap? I asked this question on Scraps of Mind yesterday and invited digital and traditional scrapbookers to share what their scrapping space is like. And if you have a photo, send it to me and I’ll include it in the post. It should be fun to see how we all go about creating in our different environments.
Have a look at my scrapping space and meet Tedward Bear.

Black and White Scrapbook Layouts
One of the most popular articles in the Scraps of Mind Archives is the one on Black and White Scrapbook Layouts. This seems to be a colour scheme that attracts many scrapbookers
Whilst on the face of it Black and White may seem like a super easy colour scheme to work with, scrapbookers should be careful not to take it too much for granted. It’s true that you won’t have any colour clashes with this combination but you need to make sure that you add sufficient variety in texture and pattern so as not to leave the overall layout looking flat and boring.
That in itself can be a lot of fun. And adding a small splash of colour, such as red, can be another way of lifting your black and white colour scheme.
If you would like to see some great black and white scrapbook layouts (both traditional and digital) as well as ATCs ond Cards, just take a look at this Scraps of Mind Readers Gallery which has some great examples.

So that’s it for this week. Have fun with the Word Art.
And please note that the Word Art will only be available for downloading for a month after the newsletter goes out. After that the links will not work.
Hope to see you over at Scraps of Mind. Leave a little comment to say ‘Hi’.
See you next week
