Weekly Word Art Newsletter - 22 Jan 2008

Welcome to Scraps of Mind. I'm delighted to see you. Why not check out the site, and if you like what you see, subscribe to my RSS feed and get daily updates delivered to you. If you're not sure what the RSS thing is, then check out this 'RSS made easy' post. Thanks for visiting and I look forward to seeing more of you.

I hope you’ve had a great week. We are having a week of squally wet weather in south eastern Australia at the moment. And boy are we excited. No one complains when it rains here any more: except when you get too much of a good thing too quickly and an area gets flooded. I guess this is a country of extremes.

But it’s like music to my ears to hear the gurgle of the rainwater flowing into my new rainwater catchment tank. My garden may yet survive the Summer.

Your favourite Quote or Poem in Word Art

I hope you’re enjoying the Word Art each week. I have a lot of fun creating it and I had an idea which you might like.

If any of you have any favourite quotes or poems that you would like me to turn into Word Art and give back to you through this Newsletter, then please send them to me. Providing they are appropriate, I’ll be happy to look at designing Word Art around them.

Now I can’t promise that all your requests will be suitable and I can’t tell you when I will be able to publish them. It will depend on how many requests I get.

But I’ll be happy to give it a go for you. Typically speaking I would not recommend that your poem be longer than 4 lines (or I might just pick an excerpt from it) and please remember to credit the author because I like to include that in my Word Art if I can.

So if you’re interested in requesting a special Word Art subject please email me at karooch(at)scrapsofmind(dot)com and I’ll do my best for you.

The Procrastinator’s Creed

I had quite a few emails after last week’s Newsletter with a number of you identifying with my procrastination habits and embracing the concept that it can be viewed as a productivity tool. So I thought I’d follow up this week with The Procrastinator’s Creed:

You may wish to delay reading this until you have more free time.

1. I believe that if anything is worth doing, it would have been done already.

2. I shall never move quickly, except to avoid more work or find excuses.

3. I will never rush into a job without a lifetime of consideration.

4. I shall meet all of my deadlines directly in proportion to the amount of bodily injury I could expect to receive from missing them.

5. I firmly believe that tomorrow holds the possibility for new technologies, astounding discoveries, and a reprieve from my obligations.

6. I truly believe that all deadlines are unreasonable regardless of the amount of time given.

7. If at first I don’t succeed, there is always next year.

8. I shall always decide not to decide, unless of course I decide to change my mind.

9. I shall always begin, start, initiate, take the first step, and/or write the first word, when I get around to it.

10. I will never put off ’til tomorrow, what I can forget about forever

I think No 8 is my favourite.

Also please note that the Word Art will only be available for downloading for a month after the newsletter goes out. After that the links will not work.

Hope to see you over at Scraps of Mind. Don’t forget to leave a little comment to say ‘Hi’.

See you next week
