Weekly Word Art Newsletter -25 Mar 2008

Hi Everyone, and welcome to this week’s edition of the Scraps of Mind Weekly Word Art Newsletter.

I hope you had a wonderful, joyous Easter.

I have a bit of an apology to make. Tara emailed me this week to tell me that my Gaelic spelling in the St Patrick’s Day word art last week was incorrect and made no sense.

Although I have an Irish background I confess that I don’t speak Gaelic and I found the spelling on the Internet. Proving the old adage that you can’t believe everything you read…even if it is on the Internet.

So I’ve redone the word art with the correct Gaelic spelling. And thank you Tara for letting me know and giving me an opportunity to fix the error.

Scraps of Mind Spring Clean

It’s time for the Scraps of Mind biannual spring clean (I have two so I can cover northern and southern hemisphere Springs).

This is where I do a review of the site: where it is going, how it looks and whether it is satisfying the needs of readers.

To do this properly I really need the input from readers (and I know many of you are subscribers to this newsletter).

Whilst I enjoy writing and creating layouts for Scraps of Mind, it is important to me that I give my readers what they want. I like to think that Scraps of Mind is read by more and more readers every day and so I believe that you readers have a vested interest in how the blog should be shaped, going forward.

So please give me your feed back on such things as:

Content

  • The current mix of content - do you like to see articles about all aspects of Scrapbooking rather than just focus on one particular kind (eg. paper scrapbooking or digital scrapbooking)?
  • Are there any favourite topics that keep you reading to the end of the article, and which ones don’t hold your interest so well?
  • Are there any other topics that you would like to see on Scraps of Mind?
  • Do you find the articles too long, or too short or a good mix? (hmmm…sounds a bit Goldilocks)

Presentation

  • Is the site easy to navigate around and can you find the stuff you want easily?
  • This one for new readers especially: when you first arrive on Scraps of Mind what sort of impression do you get?
  • Does the template load quickly into your browser (please let me know what browser you are using and if you are on dial up or broadband)?
  • I will be changing the blog template design. What would be the 3 things that you would like to see in (or removed from) the new design?

I’d really appreciate your help in this as I want to make Scraps of Mind a ‘must read’ scrapbooking site for you that you will want to return to every day and will tell your friends about.

You can email me by return on this Newsletter email or leave a comment on this post.

So please help me to make Scraps of Mind a better site for the one person that really matters … YOU!

Highlights from Scraps of Mind

Erika knows more about Scrapbook Organisation than anyone I have ever come across. Make sure you don’t miss her great Guest Post where she shares her 7 Top Scrapbook Organisation Tips.

And by the way, I’m looking for some more Guest Posters on Scraps of Mind. Why not You?

Read what it’s all about and contact me to get your article published. It can be a great opportunity to get some new readers for your blog or just to see your work published.

And let me know your view on my theory that if you scratch the skin of any Paper Scrapbooker you’ll find a Digital Scrapbooker waiting to jump out! Read about it here.

Well that’s it for this Week’s Word Art Newsletter. I hope you’ve enjoyed it.
Don’t forget the Word Art will only be available for downloading for a month after the newsletter goes out. After that the links will not work.

And please pop over to Scraps of Mind and say hello. I get a real buzz from hearing from you.

See you next week
