Hi Everyone, and welcome to this week’s edition of the Scraps of Mind Weekly Word Art Newsletter.
I’ve been having a bit of bother in sending out the newsletter over the last couple of weeks. And have accidentally sent out the 18 December newsletter to a few readers (as well as the correct one). I’m sorry for any confusion. I’ve now deleted 18 December from my mailer archive so it will hopefully stop haunting me (and you).

Melbourne International Flower & Garden Show
April brings the Annual International Flower and Garden Show to Melbourne.
Last year I was fortunate enough to check out the Show in the guise of a work related meeting. But this year is a different world and I just visited it on a week-end like most of the population.
Being a five day outdoors event, as you can imagine the weather plays an important part in the overall success of the show. It used to be held in Spring but Spring in Melbourne is a bit of a flaky season and is probably the wettest season of the year for us. So several years ago the organisers decided to move the event to Autumn.
But Fate is such a Jokester!
In the same way that ants migrate towards any picnic rug spread on the ground, so to do weather anomalies attach themselves to the Melbourne International Flower and Garden Show.
The poor organisers. After spending two weeks in set up mode in the Carlton Gardens (a superb venue by the way), not to mention the entire year in planning the event, they were blown to bits on the day the Show opened by humungous winds and rains that roared through Melbourne on a wave of destruction.
Hats off to them for making a great recovery and getting things back on track so quickly.
The Show must go on!

Highlights from Scraps of Mind
This has been a scrappin’ packed week on Scraps of Mind.
Joe Cheray, our Guest Writer of the week, returned to bring you a great tutorial on how to make frames using PaintshopPro. I know all you Paintshop Pro users will gobble that one up.
And once again, I’d love to publish an article from some of you. Just read this article to see what being a Guest Writer on Scraps of Mind is all about. And then come and join me.
Meanwhile, why not try some repetition in your scrapbook layouts. Read how you can use repetition to really showcase your focal photo.
If you didn’t the story of gutsy little Aviana in her quest to raise money for a School in Uganda, you can check it out here.
And don’t forget to get scrapping your recipe layout for the Scraps of Mind Yummy Treats Recipe Book. If you haven’t heard what this great scrapbooking group project is all about, I expain all in this little video I made.
