There are many tutorials around showing digital scrapbooking techniques … I’ve made some of them myself.
But none of them seem to address the needs of the absolute newbie: the person who isn’t comfortable with using graphics editing programs and who doesn’t know the terminology that has grown up around digital scrapbooking.
So I decided to do something about it.
I’ve set up a web site at Step by Step Digital Scrapbook which is all about helping newbies get started in digital scrapbooking.
There is a whole bunch of information and videos there to help you get started. And if you want some more personal coaching and ‘hand holding’ assistance on your digital scrapbooking journey, you can join my Mentoring Program.

I’ve have quite a few emails asking me if Photoshop Elements is the best software to pick for digital scrapbooking.
Well first of all, let me say that I am a long time user of Photoshop Elements. So that is obviously going to influence my opinion.
And in my opinion, Photoshop Elements is the best choice for someone entering the world of digital scrapbooking.

Before we get started on this Book Review let me make one thing plain:
I don’t do Manuals!!!
As soon as I start reading technical instructions my eyes start to glaze over and roll back in my head.
Which is why I was surprised that a book titled Photoshop Elements 6: The Missing Manual
was so easy to read.
Now this isn’t a book which you necessarily need to read from cover to cover. Although you should at least read the comprehensive introduction section which gives a good overview of Photoshop Elements and explains how the book is set up so you can get the best value from it.
Oh, and by the way, I am doing this review from the perspective of a Digital Scrapbooker

Scrapbook Max is an entry level digital scrapbooking software program that allows scrapbookers to easily and quickly start making their first digital scrapbooking layouts and albums with the minimum of learning curves. A short, easy to follow video gets you started quickly and in minutes you’ve created your first layout. Pretty exciting stuff for a first time digital scrapbooker.I’ll be honest with you, as a devoted Photoshop Elements user I wasn’t expecting to be terribly impressed. I had watched the introductory demo video on the site and I thought Scrapbook Max looked like a pretty basic, template driven scrapbooking tool that wouldn’t allow for much creativity. Well as I started to get into the program I was very pleasantly surprised to be proven wrong.

The Blog Mastermind Mentoring Program is a six month course run by Yaro Starak of Entrepreneurs Journey. The course teaches you how to build and develop a great blog from the ground up. The aim is to build a business asset that is of value to its readership and also generates an income for you.
The course brings you a weekly eClass which teaches you the next steps in building your blog and gives you actions to complete before moving forward. There are heaps of bonus audios and videos to add to your knowledge base, as well as a great and supportive forum of fellow students to share problems and questions with.
At the completion of the course you will still have ongoing access to all the materials that have been provided as well as to the forums.
If you do nothing else you should definitely grab the Free Blog Profits Blueprint which gives you an outline of the journey that Blog Mastermind will take you on.
I have now graduated from BMM and I have enjoyed every week of it. I like the structure and goal setting and also that you can move forward at your own pace. For me it has certainly been a worthwhile investment as I can see the improvement in Scraps of Mind over the past months.
